Sightseeing in Barcelona: Modernism Part III

Modernist Park Guell by Gaudi

Is a UNESCO Worid Heritage Site and considered one of Gaudi's top works. It is on Carmel hill so seeing this attraction means some uphill walking. The original idea of Parc Guell was to build a private and exclusive residential garden city with 60 houses. This business plan failed due to lack of interest, and in 1923 the park was given to the city council and it became the public park we can see today. There is some uphill walking but it is definately worth seeing. Visit it by taking hop-on-hop-off tour buses or metro to station Vallcarca.

Opening times and ticket prices Parc Guell
